A Brampton man who won a huge $250,000 lottery prize says he’s going to use the money to start a business hiring newcomers to Canada.
Sai Ram Reddy is a relatively new lottery player from Brampton, playing Instant games over the last four years.
The 29-year-old IT worker says he was shocked when checking an Instant Super Massive Multiplier ticket and saw he won $250,000.
“I played my ticket at the store, and I was shocked when I realized I won the top prize. It was unbelievable,” Reddy said. “I even woke up in the middle of the night to check the ticket again and make sure it wasn’t a dream.”
Reddy shared the news with a friend “who was just as shocked about the win.”
“He says I deserve this prize and was so excited for me,” Sai smiled. “I am excited. This win is such a blessing to me.”
The 29-year-old says he plans to invest the winnings to start his own business “that employs new Canadians.”
Instant Super Massive Multiplier is available for $20 a play with a top prize of $250,000 and 1 in 3.5 odds of winning any prize. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.
The winning ticket was purchased at Ace Convenience on Queen Street in Brampton.
